Dental Technology

At our office we embrace innovation and technology so that we can provide the best possible care for our patients. Dental care is always evolving and

improving so we want to be at the forefront of all of this amazing innovation by continuing to learn and grow by taking training and dental education courses

throughout the year. Below you will see some of the exciting things that we offer at Cornerstone Dental Care.

  • Dental Laser:

    • Treating a “gummy smile.” Lasers are used to reshape gum tissue associated with “gummy smile,” in which the gums’ length covers much of the tooth.

    • Crown lengthening: This procedure reshapes both gum tissue and bone for healthier tooth structure, which helps with placing restorations on the teeth.

    • Treating tongue frenulum attachment. Those with a thick or tight frenulum (the fold of skin under the front part of tongue that anchors to the mouth floor) may benefit from a laser frenectomy. This treatment helps children whose restricted frenulum causes them to be tongue-tied, have difficulty breastfeeding, or have a speech impediment.

    • Removing soft tissue folds. Lasers can remove soft tissue folds from ill-fitting dentures without pain or sutures.

    • Treating cold sores. Lasers can minimize healing time and reduce pain from cold sores.

  • Intraoral Camera:

    • Do you ever wonder what a cavity or gingivitis looks like? Well we can show you by using our intraoral camera to take pictures inside your mouth to show you what we see!

  • Digital X-rays:

    • No more uncomfortable and sharp dental x-ray films in the mouth! No more unnecessary overexposure to radiation! No more waiting for the film to develop! We use digital x-rays which are much more comfortable than traditional film x-rays and you are exposed to 90% less radiation then with the old-school x-rays. Plus, the x-ray images appear instantly on the computer screen right in front of you!

  • Intraoral Scanner:

    • We utilize the Trios intraoral scanner and the iTero 5D scanner to obtain 3D scans of your mouth for treatments such as crowns, dentures, nightguards, and retainers.

    • Check out the iTero Element below!
